ZenNotes is developed and operated by iRIS.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ZenNotes Android application.

1. Note content

The current version of ZenNotes stores your notes, checklists, sketches, voice recordings, scanned text, tags and reminders locally on your device.

We do not operate a server that receives or stores the content of your notes in this version of the app.

Your locally stored content remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app’s storage or uninstall the app.

Deleted notes may remain in the in-app Trash for up to 30 days unless you permanently delete them earlier.

2. Camera and photos

ZenNotes may request access to your camera when you choose to scan text or capture an image.

ZenNotes may also allow you to select an image from your device. The app accesses only the image you choose for this purpose.

Images selected for text scanning are processed to extract text. ZenNotes does not intentionally upload your selected images to our servers.

3. Microphone and audio recordings

ZenNotes requests microphone access only when you choose to record a voice memo.

Voice recordings are stored locally on your device in the current version of the app. We do not intentionally upload your voice recordings to our servers.

4. Notifications

ZenNotes may request permission to send notifications so it can deliver reminders that you create.

Reminder information is used only to schedule the notifications requested by you.

5. Text recognition

ZenNotes uses text recognition technology to extract text from images that you select or capture.

Text recognition is designed to be processed on the device. Extracted text is stored as part of your local note.

6. Advertising

ZenNotes uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share information such as:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location
• App interactions, including app launches, taps and ad interactions
• Diagnostic and performance information
• Device or advertising identifiers

This information may be used for advertising, analytics, security and fraud prevention.

Google’s handling of this data is governed by Google’s own privacy policies and advertising controls.

Where required, ZenNotes will ask for your privacy choices before requesting personalized advertising.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell the content of your notes.

Information may be processed by third-party services used to operate the app, such as Google AdMob. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

8. Data security

We take reasonable steps to reduce unauthorized access to information handled by the app.

Your local note content is stored on your device. The security of that content also depends on the security settings of your device.

Data collected by third-party services may be encrypted while being transmitted, according to the practices of those providers.

9. Children

ZenNotes is not designed for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect note content or personal information directly from children under 13.

10. Your choices

You can:

• Delete individual notes inside the app
• Permanently delete notes from Trash
• Remove local app data through your device settings
• Uninstall the app
• Disable camera, microphone or notification permissions through Android settings
• Review or change available advertising privacy choices inside the app

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, legal requirements or third-party services change.

The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
